Teach

Part of our mission at the Church of the Nativity includes “teaching the found” by becoming life-long learners committed to learning the Bible as the inspired Word of God, mentoring friendships, and the building up Christian leaders and servants in our community. Some of our “Teach” involvements:

Faithful Fitness Center
Throughout the year our 'Faithful Fitness Center' offers opportunities for learning more about our Lord and following Him faithfully in the 21st Century. At the core is our Faithful Followers course, an 8-session class offered twice a year focusing on membership maturity, ministry and mission in Christ.

In addition, we have other courses, Bible studies, seminars, conferences, quiet days, retreats and other learning experiences offered in the fall, winter and spring, as well as the traditional seasons on Advent and Lent.

Youth Bible Study
This study, open to all junior and senior high school students, is held weekly on Sundays at 8:30 AM. It is led by our Youth Associate.

School of Faithful Followers for Children
The mission of our Sunday School is Learning, loving, and living in the Lord. Children in Pre-school thru Grade 8 begin the 9:30 service in worship with their families, then process to classrooms, returning for Communion. The younger children learn about the people and relationships in the Bible; intermediate children recall and examine those people and relationships in more symbolic and complex ways; older children discuss and explore issues which clarify and encourage the building, defining and practicing of their relationship with God. These approaches are consistent with our belief that Christian faith is nurtured through relationships. Nursery care is provided for toddlers, and a special area adjacent to the 9:30 worship center is available for parents with babies. Sign your child up for Sunday School on-line.

Vacation Bible School
Our ever-growing one-week VBS is held during the summer both to serve the families of our region and to lead children to Christ and to a deeper life with him.

Stewardship
Our vestry is ready to support the parish members in learning about Stewardship. Read our Stewardship Statement...

Holy Communion Instruction
All children in Grade 2 are encouraged to join the Rector and their parents for three Saturdays in Lent for further instruction about the meaning and significance of this most important Sacrament.

Vision New England and Willow Creek Association
We participate regularly in conferences sponsored by this regional and international connection.
