Youth
Some of the most powerful followers of God in the Bible were young people. Jeremiah was told not to allow anyone to despise him because of his youth, but to set an example for others. It is Nativity's privilege to welcome and encourage youth to serve Him and to set us an example in so doing. The parish plays an important role in helping to guide emerging servants of God during these critical years. Understanding that the primary influence on youth is their peers, this ministry offers several means for youth to come together with trained, caring adults to grow together into the fullness of Christ, affirming that youth are not the church of tomorrow, but the church of today.
Junior High Youth Group (JET [Jesus Enlightens & Transforms]) This high-energy group for those in Grades 6-8 meets Friday evenings from 7:00-9:00 PM in the Parish Hall. Games, music, special activities and a Christian-theme focus help this age group grow in relationships with God, each other, and with caring adults. Friends are always welcome. Further information may be obtained by contacting our Associate for Youth Ministries.
Senior High Youth Ministry (SHYM) The Senior High Youth Ministry is a purpose-driven ministry focused on reaching the teens in this area and teaching them the joy of knowing Jesus Christ. This group meets Sunday nights from 7:00-9:00 PM for a time of games, music, conversation and a topical message. The ministry also uses small intimate groups that allow for sharing and learning in a safe, caring environment.

They make a regular trip to New York City and have a fall retreat each year. This well-rounded experience in Christian music and fellowship is here for the taking.

Summer Camping Programs In addition to our Diocesan Camp Bement (click for more information), the parish offers to subsidize one-week stays at a number of regional Christian camps where children and youth encounter our Lord and grow as His faithful followers.
